KEMCO understands the necessity of impartiality in validation and/or verification functions.

To safeguard impartiality and avoid any conflict of interest, we have established an independent unit, the GHG Certification Office and accordingly set the independent authority line for the function of a CDM operational entity, e.g. contracting, selection of validation and verification team, and decision on validation and verification. In addition, we do not carry out validation and verification of a project in the case where our departments including New and Renewable Energy Center are involved in the identification, development, and financing of the project. Furthermore, we established the Evaluation Committee, which takes responsibility for evaluating potential conflict of interest on the project basis.

All personnel associated validation and verification, external experts and committee members submit written oaths of service to demonstrate that they are not involved in any commercial, financial or other process which might influence their judgment, and are free from conflict of interest.
